Anyone going to Spain usually travels to either Barcelona or Madrid. This makes Valencia a secret gem. I would have to say the food in Valencia is one of the best in Spain. Their gastronomical culture is out of this word. The nightlife is also very similar to Barcelona but not as busy. There are so many amazing restaurants and bars to go around the city.
The history is also magnificent. Most buildings are over hundreds of years old and have s much history within. The people are so nice are friendly, it is a hard place to leave.
