We planned a day trip to Laguna Humantay, a turquoise lagoon located in the nearby peaks of Machu Picchu. We booked this day trip with a local tour operator we found near the Plaza de Armas. The route includes an early 4 am pick up time, two hour bus ride, 45 minute hike up, and then back down. This trip was underrated because the Lagoon is stunning. The whole bus ride and hike is completely visually stimulating.
